"In business and in life you don't get what you deserve, you get what you negotiate" (Chester L. Karrass)
My debut as an entrepreneur, I'm actually working with a couple different clients in Brazil and the USA. I'm an author of Industry publications and I`m serving small new businesses with my Procurement Expertise (TCO, new vendor, negotiation, NDAs, contracts, etc.).
Hybrid role between New Products Development and Strategic Sourcing. Ensuring the launch of new products on time and on budget, I had the chance to work in very innovative categories. On the Strategic side, I had the chance to develop and apply the category strategy for different categories. This role helped me improve my leadership and time management skills, dealing with multiple projects at a time, and handling different priorities in a dynamic environment.
Fundação Getúlio Vargas, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
Born and raised in tropical Brazil, I saw snow for the first time in 2018. The lowest average temperature in Brazil is around 40F, so my body also had to adapt to not freeze at all time! I discovered I knew "business English", but the first couple "happy hours" with work colleagues were a disaster and I used to laugh, just to be included - I had no idea what the joke was! And of course, by moving to Wisconsin, I learned the amount of drinks people have to get warm! I can't complain about the old fashion or dive bars! Moving to the USA was by far the best decision - and biggest risk- I took, but I couldn't be happier!
My first corporate leadership experience. Kohler was a start-up in Brazil and its strategy was to hire the director level, skip the management level, and hire sr. buyer levels who were ready to be a manager, but were still hands-on enough for a start-up. I organized and structured the Purchasing area, being the leader of a team of 3 people (2 buyers and 1 purchasing analyst), while managing the direct materials categories and the KPIs. I also had the chance to perform as a CapEx and services buyer. This was the job that led me to the offer of working and living abroad
The strongest and most developed Purchasing area I had the pleasure and the opportunity to work. The company that solidified my Strategic Sourcing knowledge. I was responsible for the management of several categories, and where I learned different strategies in the several negotiation training programs I attended.
Chemistry - São Paulo, Brazil
My first experience with implementing a SAP system, and all the work that needs to be done in the background to make it happen! Also, my first experience as an indirect buyer, where I had to learn how to deal with a lot of subjective evaluations for the HR, finance, IT and events categories. I had the amazing opportunity to develop and host the Supplier Relationship (SRM) program in which we evaluated and awarded the best suppliers. I also worked on the Dual Sourcing program to mitigate the risk of single sourced items.
Lua and Walter, my fictional characters from the 1st book, are back together. Now they are teenagers that travel with a group of friends to participate in an International Science fair (in the USA!). Lots of drama, confusion, and a lot of fun in an ever-changing situation that isn’t always what it looks like - that is actually the name of the book in English " Not everything that happens in Lua’s life is what it looks like”.
My first real experience in Purchasing. My Purchasing school, and the company that put me in contact with my mentors and the people who I still reach out to when I want to have a real knowledge sharing conversation. Where I learned how to manage a category, how to measure and identify correct KPIs to use, how to calculate TCO, freight modal, how to find and onboard new vendors, and how to make your voice be heard! I had the chance to apply global strategies in a local environment, as well as start to build my knowledge about gate stages and the New Products Development cycle, along with acting as a Project Manager for smaller projects.
This was my first book, and the English translated name is "Lua...the Angel from the Earth". Lua is the protagonist, she was a very poor girl who is abandoned by her mother. Walter is a rich boy, who decides to run away from home. Lua and Walter meet, and a great friendship develops. While they try to reunite, they needed strength to come back to their homes and families.
was working for Avon, and their institutional area strongly promoted breast cancer awareness. By that time, I was studying at Mackenzie University, which hosted the "Mackenzie volunteer" annual program. I decided to put together a volunteer event to combine efforts from both Mackenzie and Avon. I led a team of 15 people (3 from Avon, 10 from Mackenzie and 2 contractors). Avon sponsored us with materials and makeup items. I set up a booth in the food court of the University where more than 500 visitors came, and were received by part of the team and oriented on how to do the self-exam by a volunteer doctor. The other part of the team went to a nearby cancer hospital to visit people during their chemotherapy sessions. We focused on women and making them feel confident in their appearance - giving them makeup, having their nails done, teaching how to tie a scarf on their heads, etc. It's an unforgettable memory that made me a better leader and a better human!
Hello buyers!
Today we are mainly going to talk about price formulas and about the so-called “Triggers.”
There is no exact rule on whether or not to use a price formula, and although the time spent during the initial trade is lengthy, the benefits of having a formula outweigh it. Generally, a price formula is used when a large part of the material’s production cost is linked to a commodity (world consumer goods or traded on stock exchanges worldwide).
Attention! We will not discuss the sales...
